About Seccua

State-of-the-art technology for clean drinking water

Seccua GmbH is the global technology leader in the field of standardised ultra-filtration systems.

Ultrafiltration is a modern technology for drinking water purification which is used to completely remove bacteria, viruses, parasites, sediments and red discolouration of the water by iron without any use of chemicals.

Michael Hank, founder and managing partner of the company, originally developed the ultrafiltration systems together with a partner in the USA, where they first went into operation in 1998. Today, Seccua produces the systems at its production plant in Steingaden, near Füssen, which is designed to manufacture 1,500 systems a year. The systems are also constantly undergoing further development. Over 400 of the systems are now already in successful operation, including in the on-board restaurants of the latest generation of high-speed, inter-city trains in Germany.

Our focus lies primarily on all the locations and areas that are not connected to a central water supply. These may be communes, hamlets and small districts, but also mountain huts, industrial firms and houses.

Complying closely with the requirements of the health authorities and water management department, we installed the first local ultra-filtration system into a local authority-run water plant as the sole method of germ removal in August 2004. Over the next few years, we worked with the rural district offices of various regions in Germany to install some 400 systems to date that supply well over 100,000 people with safe drinking water. Seccua has set itself the goal of making ultra-filtration technology as inexpensive and simple as possible, so that threshold countries can also use this technology in the long term.
