Clean water should never be taken for granted

Water is the essence of life…

…and is of vital importance to us even before we come into this world. We babies know that mama takes very good care of us as we slumber snugly in her round little belly. But is the water she's drinking really safe for both of us? Is it free from pesticides, hormones and plastic softeners from polyethylene terephthalate (PET) that could harm us?

Taking a shower…

… is one of life's truly great pleasures. Whether in the morning, in the evening, or just in between, taking a shower lets us experience the element of water with all our senses. Water cleanses our bodies and clears our minds for the day to come or gives us time to think over the events of the day just closing. It's a good moment in our lives.
Some showers, unfortunately, give us more to think about. Our health.

Legionella, for example, is a bacterium which causes the serious Legionaires' disease as well as Pontiac fever. These tiny little creatures thrive in amoebae which can be found in standing water – this also means standing water in pipelines leading to showers. Legionella bacteria are a special danger for shower facilities which have not been in use for awhile, for example, in summer cottages, gyms or swimming pools. We cannot see or smell the Legionella, but it can be there and we can inhale it in droplets while taking a shower.

Legionella can be controlled effectively by chlorination. But do we really want chlorine in our water? Not really! Seccua's filtering units take care of Legionella as well as chlorine so that we can truly enjoy our showers without a care in the world.

 

Remember those days…

… of bottled water in glass bottles? So heavy to carry around! The water's fine, but the inconvenience of those glass bottles. We could return them, but still many of them ended up in our rivers or in our lakes, where Mother Nature smoothed them down to little pieces of bottle glass to decorate our waters' shores. Then came the day of plastic bottles. How convenient! How light and easy to carry about. They also decorate our shores today. There's hardly a beach in the world without at least one plastic bottle littering it. There are often considerably more.

Plastic bottles are not only a problem for the environment. Water in plastic bottles can contain minute particles of plastic softeners or other impurities which can harm us or cause allergies. We are all well aware of the fact that plastic softeners are especially harmful for babies and children.
